1908 Garrett 6nhp Showman's Road Loconotive - British Hero

This engine was supplied new to A. Dawson of Rushmere St Andrew as a road locomotive with neither canopy or belly tanks. It was soon returned to Garrett's and had these fitted. It was sold on to W. Swallow of Gloucestershire and then to T. Walker of Tewkesbury in 1912. It was then converted to a showman's type and sold to Sheppards Amusements. saved for preservation in 1956. This engine was completely restored between 1991 - 7.
It is the only surviving example of a Garrett Showman's Road Locomotive, though there are many of Garrett's Showman's Tractors in preservation.
