This roller convertible engine was supplied new in June 1920 to Hereford County Council and was one of six similar engines owned by them. It is unknown for sure that it worked as a roller during council ownership. Two of the six have survived, no. 9225 (CJ 4160) and no. 9228 (CJ 4159). It was later owned by other businesses in the Hereford area, known to be Taylors Ltd, from about 1955 and J. Yeornans & Sons of Peterchurch, Hereford around 1963 and for whom it worked as a roller.
