This engine was new to Taylor Bros. of Somerset as a dredging engine. It was then sold to showmen Symonds of Gloucester who converted it to showmans specification in the 1930's. This engine travelled extensively in commercial use touring the West Country fairs and occasionally London, until 1942. It was then purchased by Darbys Sand & Gravel co., of Sutton, Cambridge but was never used by them. Purchased for preservation in a derelict condition in 1963 and restored by by S Burgess in his own workshops.
