This is a single crank agricultural engine. Originally purchased by agricultural contractors William Penna of Cornwall. It was acquired by William Ball of Forton Lancs and was transported from Truro to Preston by rail at a cost of £9/-15's, which included loading and unloading. The owner purchased the engine in 1961, after seeing it advertised in Exchange & Mart, under the heading 'Burrell Stationary Engine.
